I will always get back to this until I remember all I was bad at arguing. The author compares his book to Strunk and White on writing well on the last page of his book, and he is probably right.
Different sections and argument types are divided so that they are in a logical order and easy to find from one place which makes this book easy to use and navigate.
Updated examples, streamlined text, and the chapter on definition reworked in a rule-based format strengthen this already strong volume. Feedback is a “reality check” all the way around –welcome it. Arguments and debates might actually be productive if people abided by the rules presented in this rulebook.

It may be a good book if you know nothing about logic or argumentation, but for most people, I think it’s too simpl It’s an ok resource to have, has the most important information needed and it’s quite concise. The book should be read through one time and then referred to often when analyzing or building arguments.

Unlike most textbooks on argumentative writing, Rulebook is organised around specific rules, illustrated and explained soundly and briefly. The best part was probably the voucher example used.
A Logic of Practical Reasoning. I think that the most useful chapter in the book is chapter six, “Deductive Arguments.
I was bad at arguing. I had a hard time putting it down once I started it. It also explains types of deductive arguments which I got a brief introduction to through CrashCourse Philosophy, but this book goes into a lot more detail.

This could be effective for a class or prolonged study of this material, but I’m not sure I would recommend it beyond a high school level and, at the same time, I’m not sure I would recommend it to high school students either anthojy of the content of some of Meh.
