If you are looking at changing everything midstream with G10 do you need to use the measure function? The difference in this parameter to reference position is when you program G28U0W0 this will take you to the reference position.
Ultimately, we are trying to set the work coordinate systems in the programs using G10s, which 188t work right now. First thing that I would consider would be to use GG59 instead of G When Z0 is input moves 1″ so I guess thats ok will just live with it. Things can get confusing.
If not, then any chance someone keyed in G50 Z1.? I have the procedure of the machine builder which is straight forward enough but what am am looking for is are the postions in parameter 1st refererence position going to change or are they there for reference????

Note that this is a lathe Vanc Think Snow Eh! Would you happen to know of the parameters that control the measure or work coordinate keys? The way it is currently working, there is ample opportunity to change the work offset and not realize it, thus producing a large oops! I know I’m not supposed to mess with the shift values but when I zero out on measure and my shift values go to for example Never thought it would be this hard. G54 is typically default on the fanuc controls so even if you press reset G54 is still going to be active.
Was there a crash, loss of battery, motor replaced, etc…etc. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Great, but if I press Z0-Measure again, without moving any axis or changing tools, the offset in G54 will incrementally increase the 1. Move the machine to where you want home to be Turn Parameter Write Enable on in the Faanuc screen Go to Parameters in the System screen, go down to the Z axis row of parameter Something happened, fanux I would turn my rapids waaaay down, next time you cycle the machine.
Was it working and now not? You can reset the home position by blinking Go back to This does not just happen on its own. I don’t know if a complete reboot will trump an old G50?
The reason this parameter is nice to use is because you can setup an easily identifiable position that the program runs to. I don’t quite understand your expectations that this spot should be ZERO. You could try – in MDI: Move the axis towards -VE directionthan refrence the axis The problem is solved. Apparently the turret is at a place that you have determined should be Z0? What is 18y set to? Setting this can be a bit of a brain twister if you have not done it before because you also have to adjust your softlimit settings. Let us know what the settings of parameter are set to and this will tell us a few things along with giving us a bit of history as to what happened.
